Secularists stand on a mountain of their own accomplishments. But they're just children riding piggy back on Christian civilization. #fb

As a nonbeliever, I would love it if people abandoned their houses of worship and came together via science and reason. But, sadly, that’s not going to happen any time soon. Until then, I remain secular and quite fond of the Constitution. And so does Jon Stewart, quite rightly.

This story broke on Thursday; very sad. Read the full story here at Greenwichtime.com. Here’s an excerpt:

A South African man who wanted to watch a World Cup football match instead of a religious program was beaten to death by his family in the northeastern part of the country, police said Thursday.

David Makoeya, a 61-year-old man from the small village of Makweya, Limpopo province, fought with his wife and two children for the remote control on Sunday because he wanted to watch Germany play Australia in the World Cup. The others, however, wanted to watch a gospel show.

The link to the story shows who’s been talking about or linking to the article at the bottom in the Echo section. This one caught my eye:

When soccer means just a little too much. This is just insane. http://bit.ly/cEoPuT

Um, no…I think you’ll find in this case that religion meant a little too much. It wasn’t the soccer fan who killed the family members who wanted to watch the gospel program, it was the other way around. They smashed his head against the wall.

Ah…the good old peaceful teachings of Jesus Christ.

And they claim to not be zombie worshipers
